The latest update of COVID-19 cases in Indianola shows a growth of 16 cases within city limits and 3 not within city limits but inside the Indianola Fire District for a total of 392 cases to affect the city since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County COVID-19 cases are up 55 over the weekend, with a total of 1,251 cases to affect the area since the beginning of the pandemic. On October 2nd, Warren County had been affected by 978 cases, marking a growth of 278 cases so far in the month of October, after seeing only 186 cases in September and 284 in August, marking October as potentially the largest growth of cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Active cases continue to rise in Warren County, up to 288 from 240 since October 23rd, the largest number of active cases the county has seen. Warren County has seven deaths from the virus.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that might indicate schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is at 8.3%, while Marion County is at 11.3%. There are 17 counties currently over the threshold.
