A two week shut down threatened to derail the Twin Cedars Cross Country season. Twin Cedars Schools decided to go to all-virtual learning for two weeks due to an outbreak of COVID-19, and Rylee Dunkin and the cross country squad’s season was put on hold. Dunkin and the team decided to run on their own together to keep themselves in shape for the season that would eventually start. Dunkin tells KRLS Sports those two weeks of work made them closer and better prepared to start the season.
Dunkin:
“That helped us come together and me closer as a team, and become closer and helped us for that first meet. We made a team decision to run and get ready for the season and make ourselves better.”
You can find an interview with Dunkin on kniakrls.com that aired during last night’s Radio Sports Page on KNIA/KRLS. Dunkin, who is ranked 7th in Class 1A among individuals, will run the state meet race Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
