Pella Christian Grade School and Pella Christian High School have announced the latest steps they are taking to continue the integration efforts of the two schools announced in January. The impact of COVID-19 has temporarily focused their primary efforts on the steps they are taking to keep their students on campus with teachers and their peers. District administrators believe the best way forward to strengthen the missions of the two schools is to work more closely and collaboratively together. The PCGS and PCHS boards have both unanimously approved a recommendation to begin a search for a Head of Schools to provide administrative leadership for both groups into the future, with the search starting immediately and filled for the 2021/2022 school year. This will be a shared leadership position that will report directly to the PCGS and PCHS boards.
The schools already share the following leadership positions:
● Dan Brandenhorst — Director of Activities (7-12)
● Craig Juffer — Director of Learning (K-12)
● Teresa Ulferts — Director of Admissions (Prek-12)
● Rebecca Gomez — Director of Spanish Immersion (Prek-12)
The new Head of Schools will oversee the Joint Administrative Leadership Team that includes the members listed above and High School Principal, Greg Wojczynski, as well as the new Grade School Principal that will replace David TeGrotenhuis, who is leaving at the end of this year for Crown Point Christian School.
