Drought conditions across south central Iowa have largely been reduced according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report. Almost all of Marion and Warren Counties are no longer listed as abnormally dry, after rounds of rainfall and snow impacted the region from mid-to-late October. Dry conditions are in place still throughout most of Lucas and Monroe Counties, as well as portions of Jasper and Mahaska. Most of the western half of Iowa remains in severe drought, with little relief expected to start the month of November. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest weather information.
