With nearly 925,000 early votes already cast in the 2020 General Election in Iowa, there are tens of thousands of voters still expected to turn out Tuesday to help decide several elected seats across the state and the region.
There is one contested race on the ballot for the Iowa Statehouse in Marion County, as incumbent District 40 Senator and Republican Ken Rozenboom receives a challenge from Democrat Lance Roorda. District 40 includes the Pella area, all of Mahaska, Monroe, and Appanoose Counties, as well as the western half of Wapello County.
Southeast Iowa will elect a new congresswoman to office to replace the retiring Dave Loebsack in Iowa Congressional District Two, as Democrat Rita Hart and Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks are vying for a two-year team in the U.S. House of Representatives.
District 79 Representative Dustin Hite and District 28 Representative Jon Thorup, both Republicans, are running unopposed in the Iowa Statehouse, as is District 14 State Senator Amy Sinclair.
