With the Indianola football 2020 season now closed, the Indians will have to say goodbye to a senior class consisting of 16 members, and one that will be hard to replace. Offensively, the Indians will lose quarterback CJ Kuehl who was the top passer this season and second in rushing, leading receivers Mark Pepper and John McGinnis, as well as stalwarts on the line. Defensively, Indianola will have to replace three of their top four tacklers in Sam Hildreth, Jacob Darr, and Sean Cunningham, and all the interceptions from the defensive backfield from Kuehl, McGinnis, and Dar. Indians head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports he can’t express just how much this senior class had to overcome to be successful, and how much they meant to the program.
“I’m just so proud of them. Hopefully our young players, the sophomores, the juniors, have really sat back and watched and understand what it takes to be committed to not only be a good football player but a good person. Our seniors have really done that for us this year.”
The Indians went 4-5 on the season, falling to Waukee in the round of 16 in the state playoffs.
