A Harvey family farm has received Century Farm recognition from the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship. The Donald D. Verros family farm was awarded the distinction in a ceremony last week.

To be eligible for a Century Farm designation, a farm must have consecutive ownership within the same family for 100 years or more of at least 40 acres of the original holding of Iowa farmland, and the present owner must be related to a person who owned the land 100 years ago. The Verros farm originated in 1908.

Families who received the award in 2020 could choose to participate either in a small regional event or the 2021 Iowa State Fair.
