Emergency crews responded to the scene of a house fire Tuesday evening in the 300 block of North Grant Street in Knoxville. The Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Marion County Emergency Management, Knoxville Police Department, Marion County Sheriff Fire Investigator, Alliant Energy, Mid-American Energy and the Red Cross were on scene for over two hours. Knoxville Fire Chief Cal Wyman tells KNIA/KRLS News that the house is a total loss, but everyone except the cat made it out safely. The fire remains under investigation.
