An increase in voter turnout from Warren County led to several seats being flipped from incumbent to challenger in the 2020 election. State Representative Scott Ourth won the 2016 election with 9,122 votes over Republican Rebel Snodgrass with 7,763 votes. Four years later, Ourth came close to the 2016 total, but lost 711 votes with 8,411, while Republican challenger Brooke Boden received an increase of nearly 2,000 votes from 2016 to get 9,756 to win the election.

An increase for both sides in the Warren County Sheriff’s race also led to a flipping of the seat. In 2016, Sheriff Brian Vos won the election with 13,156 votes over Steve Spain who had 10,622. In the 2020 election, Vos received an increase of 1,492 votes overall to get 14,648, while challenger Joe Carico had an additional 4,236 votes compared to 2016 to win the seat.

On average, Warren County had an additional 3,000-4,000 more voters in each race compared to 2016.
