The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report shows continuation of the removal of area drought conditions. Most of Marion and Warren Counties remain in normal precipitation conditions, with most of Lucas, Monroe, and Polk Counties considered abnormally dry, as well as portions of southeastern Jasper and northern Mahaska Counties.
Above average temperatures are expected to continue until Monday, with winds becoming breezy today and continuing until a cooldown Monday night, which will also present additional chances of precipitation. Daytime highs will stay in the upper 60s and low 70s, until dropping into the 40s by Tuesday.
