The latest update of COVID-19 cases in Indianola shows a growth of 34 cases over the weekend within city limits, and an additional six not within city limits but within the Indianola Fire District for a total of 391 in the city and 112 inside the fire district, for a total of 503 cases to affect the area since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has been affected by 1,761 cases of COVID-19, a growth of 198 cases since the November 6th update, the highest 3-day growth total of the pandemic. There are nearly 700 active cases in the county with 697, an increase from the previous high of 528 on November 6th by 169. Warren County has nine deaths from the virus.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Friday, Warren County is over the threshold at 15.7%, while Marion County is over at 22.9%. There are 84 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
