The 2020 fall sports season has ended at Pella High School after several members of the newly-formed swim team are now quarantining due to possible exposure to COVID-19.

Pella Activities Director Matt Fouch confirmed the season is over late Monday, just two days after four Pella athletes qualified for the 2020 state meet. The 400 yard freestyle relay of Maylei Ruggles, Natalie Boll, Emma Curry, and Hannah Nedder were the 28th seed after a qualifying time of 3:52.81 Saturday, but they will now no longer compete.

Nedder had already qualified in the 100 yard butterfly as well and was the 13th overall seed in the state, with a 59.07 mark.

The swimmers will still be featured this Wednesday on the KNIA/KRLS Radio Sports Page on 92.1 KRLS.
