Lt. Paul Haase is now the Captain of the Pella Police Department, and starts in his new role Sunday. The role was created as part of a restructuring of the department following the arrival of Chief Shane McSheehy this summer.
Haase began a career of service by joining the Iowa Army National Guard 186th Military Police Unit. Since 2002, Haase has served as a patrol officer, narcotics detective, internet crimes investigator, and field training officer. In 2011, Paul was promoted to Lieutenant and served as the Interim Chief this past spring following the departure of previous Chief Robert Bokinsky.
Haase will oversee several components of the department moving forward and will serve as the primary Public Information Officer. Tune into Let’s Talk Pella on Tuesday, November 17th to hear from Haase about his new role.
