The Twin Cedars Football Squad was very young at several positions this season. Six freshmen were on the roster and all six were forced into significant playing time for the Sabers. Coach Cam Parker tells KRLS Sports it is never ideal to play a freshman on varsity but he had to out of necessity at times. Parker says they all handled their roles well and hopefully will be better players when next season rolls around.
Parker:
“We saw some great strides in them during the season. It may not have reflected on the scoreboard, but they improved throughout the season. They got a lot of valuable minutes. They got a lot of playing minutes that they wouldn’t have got if there were 40 guys on the team.”
The Sabers finished 0-6 opting out of the eight-man playoffs to play rival Melcher-Dallas.
