The Indianola School Board discussed the Return to Learn plan at their meeting Monday evening, continuing a discussion that began last spring when the board and administration started planning for this school year. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the board and administration has done a tremendous job making school be as safe a place as possible, and be able to provide an education at the same time.
“The board has been having to follow the changes in guidance or mandates from the state level in regards to activities and other things, and also what’s been happening with the virus, as it’s been extremely active in the state and the county. Those numbers are very high, but in school we are having good success with mitigation, currently with six positive tests with staff members and 12 with students. The quarantine numbers are higher, but a lot of that is due to community spread.”
