Helping Hands Knoxville recently helped provide turkeys to numerous Knoxville families in need. Chuck Galaezzi of Helping Hands says that the community’s support was above and beyond in what’s been a tough year for many.
“It’s been such a happy time. We’ve been able to provide turkeys for a lot of people. We had to do it in a little different way. $2,750 is quite a bit for Helping Hands. People in town don’t get to see the expressions on these people’s faces when they have a turkey, when they’re hard to come by, because of money, or there’s just not as many of them out there. All the people who work at Helping Hands just love to help people. When we get the support from the community like we’ve had this year, it’s totally awesome.”
Helping Hands is now accepting ham donations for the Christmas season.
