Pella Christian Grade School hosted a community building activity incorporating all grade levels to benefit the Pella Community Food Shelf. The school held a canstruction, with elementary students bringing in cans of non-perishable food items, which Pella Christian middle school students then divided into equal dividends to get to each of the houses. Middle school students also brought in cans to contribute to their house stockpile. Once can collection was complete, each house set to work building their own structure out of the cans. On Friday, a judging team from Pella Christian High School came to decide on a first, second, and third place winner. The project collected more than 2,800 cans and boxes of food for the Pella Food Shelf.
