The Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad is trying to turn around its fortunes after struggling to be competitive the last two seasons. The Sabers have won just nine games and lost 34 in the last two seasons. However, third year Head Coach Blake McWilliams tells KRLS Sports with more experience on this season’s roster, they are a lot farther along nearly two weeks into practice then they have ever been.
McWilliams:
“It’s exciting to get to the points where we have an opportunity to be in some games this season rather than hoping and praying to be in those games.”
Leading the experience for the Sabers this season are seniors Kade Dunkin and Jace Nichols. Dunkin led the Sabers last season scoring nine points per game while Nichols hit on 38% of his three point shots. McWilliams adds Junior Dallas Clark looks to make an impact as well. The Sabers will get the season underway Tuesday on the road against Wayne.
