He just finished his career as one of the best Pella Christian football defenders of all time, and now, an Eagles senior has announced he intends to continue his career at college.
Luke Mulder has committed to Minnesota State, an NCAA DIvision II powerhouse program that has had some recent local talent play a key role in the program.
Mulder follows Mr. 2014 Iowa football Garret Jansen, who transferred to play for the Mavericks to end his athletic career last fall, when he was a key member of the defensive line that led Minnesota State to the national finals.
Luke, who is about to begin his senior basketball season, was a dominant force on the gridiron in 2020 — his 7 ½ sacks and 21 tackles for loss earned him 2nd team All-State honors from the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.
Mulder leads the Eagles program in career sacks, and owns all school records in the statistical category. Luke joins brother Eric and the rest of the Pella Christian basketball team this Tuesday when they host Albia in the 2020-21 winter season opener.
