The Warren County Engineer’s Office took advantage of the warmer temperatures this fall to accomplish a majority of their projects for 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic slightly slowing projects down in the spring and early summer. Warren County Engineer David Carroll tells KNIA News his department was able to better prepare the roads for winter with the extra work time.
“Really with the unseasonably warm temperatures we have had through November we have been able to do quite a bit more work such as patching and laying down things like concrete where we can keep things insulated where we might not be able to normally. The warmer temperatures have allowed us to get a lot more accomplished here in the normal colder months.”
Carroll also said the department has full stocks of salt and sand ready for the winter, and many vehicles have already been converted for snowfall.
