The Marion County Public Health Department has adopted new CDC guidelines related to the length of COVID-19 quarantine periods. Director Kim Dorn tells KNIA/KRLS News that while the incubation period, or the amount of time the virus is transmissible, is still 14 days, quarantine can end after day 10 without testing and if no symptoms occur.

The CDC estimates that residual post-quarantine transmission risk is between one and 10 percent under these circumstances. Find more information about this strategy adopted by the Marion County Public Health Department here.
