State Senator Amy Sinclair has been named the chair of the Iowa State Senate Education Committee for the 89th General Assembly. The purpose of this committee is to pass legislation that improves the quality of education in Iowa’s public schools, community colleges and state universities. She has served in the role since Senate Republicans retook the majority in the 2016 general election.
Sinclair said she’s proud to be leading the Education Committee, and notes that one of the most important issues for Iowans is the education of their children.
Sinclair is the state senator for District 14, which locally encompasses most of Marion County, southern Jasper County, and all of Lucas County.
