The latest update of COVID-19 cases from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows Warren County has crossed the 3,000 case mark, with 3,083 cases to affect the area since the beginning of the pandemic, a growth of 113 cases since the December 5th update. After a slight fall in active cases earlier this month, cases only slightly grew since the December 5th update, up four cases for a total of 1,279.

The IDPH shows an additional long-term care facility outbreak in Warren County since the latest update, bringing the total to two facilities affected. Warren County has two additional deaths from the virus since the December 5th update, now with 17.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is over the threshold at 15.9%, while Marion County is below the threshold at 14.8%. There are 73 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
