The Norwalk basketball teams return to Little Hawkeye Conference action this evening as they make the trip to Pella to take on the Little and Lady Dutch. The Norwalk girls have seemingly gotten back on track, but came up just short in their last game, a 45-44 road loss to Winterset on Monday in buzzer-beating fashion. They’ll be facing a Pella team that, much like the Warriors, have had an up-and-down start to the season. However, Pella enters with the momentum of a dominant win over Washington on Tuesday. The Dutch have had the upper hand in the series as of late, winning four of the last five contests, and splitting last year’s games in two low-scoring affairs. Norwalk will look to stay in the top half of the conference as they enter 1-0 in league play, while Pella is 0-1.

The boys game features a battle between two Class 3A state qualifiers from a year ago. Norwalk is in search of another big win after holding off Winterset on Monday night. Head Coach Chris Larson says this game will be a great benchmark for his team in the race for another conference title.

Pella is 3-0 overall, and had no problems in their road win over Washington on Tuesday. Both teams are 1-0 in league play, and the teams have split the last five meetings. Norwalk was able to hold off a Pella comeback effort in their last trip to the Pella High gym this past January.

Tonight’s doubleheader will air live on 92.1 KRLS with pregame coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m. The opening tipoff is scheduled for 6:15.
