According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County now has 3,511 cases of COVID-19 to affect the county since the beginning of the pandemic, a growth of 108 since the December 17th update.
Active cases continue to significantly fall in the county after a late November peak of near 1,300, down 28 cases to 911. The Iowa Department of Public Health also shows one outbreak in a long-term care facility in the county, and an additional two deaths from the virus, now with 28 total, 14 of which have come in December.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is at the threshold at 15%, while Marion County is over at 18.4%. There are 39 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
