In 2021, Pleasantville will be hoping to get better offensive production from both teams as they try to get more wins this winter.
The girls are heading into 2021 with a 3-5 record, with a 1-3 record in West Central Conference play. They are currently sixth in scoring at 38.5 points per game in conference play, six points per game fewer than the next team, Van Meter. Coach Jeff Cook tells KNIA Sports that he hopes to up the scoring from his team as they get ready for 2021.
Even though they struggle to score, they currently stand as the best rebounding team in the conference at 35 rebounds a game, barely ahead of Woodward-Granger.
As for the boys, they head into 2021 with a 3-2 record, with a 1-2 record in West Central Conference play. They currently are averaging 46.4 points per game, which is 2nd-worst in the conference, only ahead of West Central Valley. Coach Tom Wilkins tells KNIA Sports he attributes the lack of scoring to slow starts.
Wilkins also says that everybody needs to be on the same page in order for their offense to click.
The Trojans will be back in action January 5th for a conference doubleheader at Woodward-Granger, tipping off at 6:00 PM.
