The Pella Public Library has announced that the on-demand film streaming service Kanopy will be available at the Pella Public Library beginning January 1st. Kanopy is a video-streaming platform dedicated to thoughtful and thought-provoking films, and was established to provide academic institutions with essential films that foster learning and conversation, but now has expanded its services to public libraries. It delivers a collection of 30,000+ films, available to stream anytime and anywhere —from desktop to TV to tablet.

Kanopy showcases documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, world cinema, PBS, The Great Courses, and independent filmmakers.

Like other online library resources, Kanopy is limited to residents of Pella and rural Marion County who will have five “play credits” per month.
