Volunteers with the Pella Community Food Shelf are appreciating the support received leading up to the holidays, but the need for families remains high entering the new year. Director Melissa Zula says she’s thankful to all who donated, whether it was through the KNIA/KRLS Caring Christmas Food Drive or by other means at the Pella Hy-Vee or other holiday collection events, as their service has been in high demand in the era of COVID-19. She encourages anyone considering an end-of-year monetary donation to help the various programs they have to assist families in need.
