Accumulated snowfall in Knoxville has reached 7”. In Pella, there has been six inches of snow recorded, and in Indianola, 7”.

The Iowa Department of Transportation reports that area roadways are partially snow covered and slick across Knoxville, Indianola, and Pella.

State plows are in operation. The Marion County Road Department currently has 16 plows and 11 motor graders treating gravel and hard surface roads. There is a tow ban in effect in Marion County. Towing is also not recommended in Warren County.

If you choose to travel this morning, take plenty of time to get to your destination, and give our road crews and first responders plenty of room to work. Don’t crowd the plow.

The one to count on for the winter weather information and road conditions is KNIA/KRLS.
