Winter break is over, and the school year resumes today at Knoxville Schools. According to Superintendent Cassi Pearson, absentee rates due to COVID-19 were fairly low during the first half of the school year, and says that the year has gone uninterrupted to this point. She thanks everyone involved for their efforts, and looks forward to big things in 2021.

“We appreciate all the support we’ve had. It’s been a crazy year. There have been great things that happened and continue to happen. We appreciate our staff, students and community, and we’re really looking forward to 2021 and be able to see what that brings. I think there’s going to be a whole lot of new and exciting things on the horizon.”

One of the major undertakings of 2021 will be the groundbreaking and start of construction of the new middle school building. That’s expected to begin in the spring. The first semester officially ends Friday, January 15th.
