The Marion County Board of Supervisors held its annual organizational meeting Monday. Mark Raymie was elected board chair, and Kisha Jahner was elected Vice Chair.

They named the Des Moines Register as the county’s Official Publication Newspaper. They appointed Steve Edwards as the ADA Coordinator with an annual salary of $2,000. They approved sheriff’s deputy and reserve peace officer appointments. They named Justin Kingery the administrator of the county Law Enforcement Center, and Jennifer Geery as the county’s civil process server. Tyler Christian was named the county’s representative for Federal DOT drug and alcohol testing.

They approved a construction evaluation for feeding confinement buildings, and appointed members to the compensation commission. They named Dr. Earl McKeever as the county’s medical examiner, and appointed deputy medical examiners. They named Craig Agan to the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority, and Steve McCombs to the South Central Iowa Cedar Creek Watershed Management Authority.

They approved supervisor assignments to various county board and commissions. They named Tyler Christian as the county’s Flood Plain Administrator, as well as the Memorial Hall Commissioners and Pioneer Cemetery commissioners.

They accepted the resignation of LuAnn Willis from the county’s Board of Health, and set the county employee mileage reimbursement rate at 56 cents per mile.

The next Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting will be January 12th at 9:00 a.m.
