Pleasantville’s first wrestling quad of 2021 takes place at BGM High School tonight. The Trojans will be competing against BGM, Colfax-Mingo, and Montezuma.
The Trojans will be looking to start 2021 off on a positive note after finishing sixth in the WCAC Tournament December 19, including two second place finishes from Alex Swanson and Matthew Kauffman. Coach Heath DeForest tells KNIA Sports that he would like to see improvement from his team after the tournament.
“To put it bluntly, I don’t think we showed our capabilities. I think the kids know and understand that. No matter who we go up against, I have certain expectations and they need to have certain expectations of themselves. It doesn’t matter what they are wearing , it just matters who is stepping on the other side of that line. The biggest things we have been working on are going out attacking, fighting and battling.”
DeForest also states that he is seeing his team being more aggressive over the last couple weeks of practice.
The quad for Pleasantville wrestlers begins at BGM High School at 5:30 PM. Check back to kniakrls.com tomorrow for full results.
