The Indianola girls and boys basketball squads will look to extend their winning streaks tonight on their home court against Oskaloosa.
The Indians girls are on an eight-game streak, and haven’t lost a contest after their season opener against Des Moines Christian, averaging over 51 points per game while giving up only 40 during the streak.
The Indians boys are in the process of building up a streak of their own, winning three in a row after a 2-3 start to the season, winning games by an average of 26 points over their last three. Senior forward Caden Rehmeier tells KNIA Sports his squad doesn’t think about any sort of winning streak, just about improvement after each game and preparing for the game in front of them.
“For us it’s the same way we approach every game. Next game up, just taking it one game at a time. We want to go on a winning streak here, and just keep on winning. That’s the message our coach has had, we just need to keep it going.”
The games tonight can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off of the girls contest set for 6:15pm.
