The Knoxville Wrestling Squad went 2-1 at a quad hosted by the Panthers on Thursday. Knoxville began the meet with a 54-30 win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, then trounced Chariton 60-22 before falling to Albia 48-27. Four Panthers completed the perfect night as Wayne Johnston, Gage Rowley,Luke Spaur and Andon Trout all went 3-0 on the night. Spaur and Rowley told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was a good night, but there is a lot of room for improvement..
Luke: “I wrestled OK, it wasn’t my best we’re just an inexperienced team, we’ll be OK.
Gauge: “There were some decent kids and I did OK, could have wrestled better.”
The Panthers are now 2-3 on the season in dual meets and will travel to PCM this Saturday in a 16 team mega meet.
