The Knoxville City Council is moving forward with recruitment for a new city manager. Interim City Manager Heather Ussery says that a recruitment firm will be utilized to assist in the hiring process, and the council hopes to have the firms narrowed down by mid-February.
“The council will be going out for an RFQ, or Request for Qualifications for recruitment firms to handle the process for the hiring. They decided on a February 19th deadline for those proposals to be turned in.”
While the overall timeline remains unclear at this time, Ussery says the process generally takes 6-9 months once a firm is selected. Hear more from Knoxville Interim City Manager Heather Ussery here.
