Winter is a critical time for vehicle maintenance. Residents are reminded to perform general inspections to make sure everything is in proper condition. Adrien Henke of Napa Auto Parts in Knoxville explains that a piece of equipment typically associated with warm weather is important during cold weather as well.
“One of the things people don’t think about is your air conditioner. It actually does run in the wintertime. When you turn on the defrost, the A/C actually dries the air before it heats it. That’s what keeps the fog off the windshield. So you want to make sure your A/C is working during the winter. It’ll help keep fog off the windows.”
Henke also recommends that any fluids put into the engine during winter be rated to perform at temperatures of – 20 degrees. Find more tips here.
