Melcher-Dallas’ boys’ team got their first win of the season last Tuesday against Seymour; now they will focus on getting even with Bluegrass Conference foe Murray Tuesday as part of a girls-boys doubleheader.
Melcher-Dallas currently sits at 1-3 on the season, and they are looking to gain some traction in their conference with a win Tuesday. The Saints lost to Murray last Monday on the road, a 67-42 defeat. Coach Jim Wells tells KNIA Sports that his team needs to be better defensively in order to avenge Monday’s loss.
“They did a nice job taking care of the ball and running their offense and getting their buckets. We got down and had to hurry. We were down 36-18 at halftime and the final score of the game was 67-42 and in that second half they outscored us 31-24 so I thought we played them pretty well in the second half. I think we just need to come out of the gate and play like that.”
Their matchup with Murray is Tuesday as part of a girls-boys Bluegrass Conference doubleheader. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 PM.
