Marion County Public Health continues vaccinations of people considered to be in Phase 1A of the effort to vaccinate front line health workers. It’s an important step in what’s been a trying time for the department. Director Kim Dorn says that there are staff who have not had a day off since the beginning of the pandemic.

“I really have to give my staff kudos because we have staff in here who have worked every single day since March, including weekends, including holidays. They’ve worked very, very hard. Sometimes they don’t deliver the news that people want to hear, and they hear a lot of hard things, but they are doing very well with that, and they also appreciate those kind words when they come.”

Dorn anticipates the general public may be able to receive vaccines by late spring.
