Republicans enter the 2021 Iowa Legislative Session with large majorities, and will likely work through many party priorities over the next two years.

District 79 Representative Dustin Hite believes in this general assembly, there will be a push to establish the 2nd Amendment in the U.S. Constitution into Iowa’s Constitution, add restrictions on abortions in Iowa, and additional tax reductions. Hite believes the strength of Iowa’s financial situation was a key in the strength of Republicans in the November election, and that those other issues will get strong consideration after COVID-19 relief measures and school funding issues are sorted out.

Hite begins his 2nd term in the Iowa statehouse representing Pella, Oskaloosa, and the western half of Mahaska County.
