The City of Indianola has completed the planning aspects of many projects, and are expected to begin construction on several in 2021, including the paving of E Iowa Ave to help with the Missouri Valley Line Training Facility construction, and the Downtown Streetscape Project, which coincides with the Warren County Justice Center Construction. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News because of the city’s careful planning, they were able to secure several grants worth a total of $1.7 million to help offset the cost.

‘While we are not at the point of construction yet, the legwork to get these designed took a lot of time. It’s a generational project that will enhance the town square. The grant revenue funds the design aspects of it, to not only look great but be environmentally friendly. So that’s what those grants will help fund.”
