The Pella Police Department held a promotion and recognition ceremony Wednesday. Chief Shane McSheehy led the event intended to honor officers and communications staff as they assumed new roles under a recent restructuring of the department approved by the Pella City Council last year.

The following individuals were honored:
Glenn Matherly – 35 years as a reserve officer, retirement in Oct. 2020
Glenn Meinders – 25 years as a reserve officer

Citizen’s Achievement Award: Brian Steenhoek
Chief’s Award: Senior Officer Tim Donelson

Promotions:
Lead Communications Specialist : Shelly Sample
Captain: Paul Haase
Sergeant: Justin Bailey, Shawn Veenstra, Bradley Vincent, Nathan Wolff
Senior Officer: Tim Donelson, Chad Hardman, Matt Huston, Dustin Schuldt, Justin Bailey, Shawn Veenstra, Bradley Vincent, Nathan Wolff
