The Indianola School District received nearly $1.2 million in federal funds for Coronavirus relief, part of nearly $345 million sent across the state. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the funds will be a welcome relief for the district, after purchasing equipment to help facilitate the online learning.
“We did go and purchase devices for K-5 students, roughly $500,000 of laptops. We hired additional staff, and there are all of those smaller additional expenses that we did accrue that are related to the virus, so these funds will help offset that.”
Sathoff also said the district staff participated in a webinar that reviewed all the specific uses for the funds, and the district remains in a good financial state.
