Melcher-Dallas’ boys knock off Moulton-Udell in their first game of the Bluegrass Conference tournament with a 62-18 victory while the girls will open tournament play at home against Seymour Monday night.
The Saints’ boys get their third win of the season, getting double-digit scoring from three different players. Lane VanderLinden led the way for Melcher-Dallas, scoring 17 points. Ryan Krpan and Owen Suntken were second and third in scoring, with 14 and ten points, respectively. With the win, Melcher-Dallas improves to 3-6 on the season.
The Saints’ boys will be back in action Tuesday in the second round of the conference tournament, as they battle Lamoni at Moravia High School. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 PM.
As for the Saints’ girls, they will play Seymour in their first game of tournament action Monday night. Melcher-Dallas will go into the game 6-3 on the season, with one of those wins being a 42-22 victory over Seymour.
The Saints’ girls game will begin at 7:30 PM Monday night at home.
