Both Pella and Pella Christian High School competed this past weekend at their own schools in the Iowa High School Speech Association’s District Speech contest.
The PCHS speech team included 31 students and entered five speech events with all five receiving I’s and advancing to the State competition to be held February 6. Pella Community has 12 events advancing to State out of 14 entries from their school.

Pella High’s speech program is under the direction of Suzi Jones and Ashlee Whittington while Pella Christian High’s speech program is under the direction of Marlo Van Peursem, Lisa Van Gilst and Cory Van Gilst.
