It was a special weekend as the Pella wrestling team aims to continue their impressive growth in 2021.

The Dutch placed 3rd as a team in the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament, their highest mark since Indianola joined the league in 2017.

Damion Clark was the league champion in the 113 pound weight class. Peyton Ritzert placed 2nd at 138 pounds, and Ryan Hancock (126), T.R. Putz (132), Ryan Van Donselaar (160), Jordan DeRuiter (220), and Kody Huisman (285) all finished in 3rd as individuals.

Additionally, Pella learned they will participate in the team regional duals for the first time in program history on February 10th, entering as the 24th ranked team in the 24 team field vying for the chance to compete as a full team at state.

Pella wrestling finishes the conference dual season Thursday at Oskaloosa.
