The road to The Well has been set for girls basketball teams in Class 1A, 2A, and 3A, as the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released the postseason brackets for those schools.
Knoxville and PCM are both competing in Class 3A Region 3. The Panthers open against Chariton and the Mustangs travel to Nevada on Saturday, February 13th. No. 7 Des Moines Christian and No. 9 Roland-Story are the ranked teams in the bracket. Hear the Panthers on 95.3 KNIA, and PCM on the KRLS3 stream.
Pella Christian opens at home on Tuesday, February 16th against Pekin in Class 2A Region 3. The winner, barring a major upset, will likely travel to No. 3 West Branch on Friday, February 19th. While they dropped out of this week’s poll, Van Buren was previously ranked 15th on the other side of the bracket. The Eagles can be heard on 92.1 KRLS.
Pleasantville will begin their journey in Class 2A Region 2 at Earlham. The winner of that matchup would likely face No. 7 Grundy Center. No. 10 Denver is also in the region. The Trojans will be featured on the KNIA3 stream.
In Class 1A, Twin Cedars will travel to Wayne on Thursday, February 11th in Region 8, and Melcher-Dallas travels to Martensdale-St. Marys in Region 2.
Brackets for Class 4A and 5A teams will be released next week.
