The Simpson Storm men’s basketball team could not overcome the top team in the American Rivers Conference on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to the Spartans 87-74. The Storm fought hard early on with a 13-5 advantage, but it would be all Dubuque after that point. The Spartans led 51-41 at the break, and the Storm got the score within four late in the second half, but an immediate 13-4 run by Dubuque ended the rally. Chris Honz scored a career high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Storm are now 1-5 overall, and 1-3 in conference play, and they will next compete against Luther on Monday.
