The Pleasantville Trojans basketball teams hit the road Tuesday night and had a rough time at Van Meter as the orange and black lost both contests. The Trojan girls fell 51-40 and the boys fell 61-20.
The Trojan girls fought valiantly, even forcing overtime against a talented Bulldogs squad, but they came up just short as their record now evens out at 10-10. Faith Vanderhart led the way with 14 points.
The Trojan boys had one of their toughest nights of the season, as they allowed more than triple the points that they scored themselves. Mason Scheve had nine points, nearly half the team total.
Pleasantville will next compete in a boys only contest Thursday as they host Saydel starting at 7:15.
The Trojan wrestling squad hit the road and traveled all the way to Logan for the IHSAA Class 1A Regional Dual and got a split against their two opponents. Pleasantville defeated Bedford/Lenox 48-27 but fell to Logan-Magnolia 76-4.
The Trojans were dominant against Bedford/Lenox, only getting pinned in two of their 14 matches. The same could not be said for Pleasantvilles’ bout with the hosts in LoMa, as the Trojans only points came from a Kitt Lundy major decision over Harley Christiansen at 132 pounds.
Pleasantville will next compete at home on Saturday.
