An Indianola man pled guilty to theft after an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau. According to the IID, 60-year-old Dwight Jay Roberts provided false information to his insurance company concerning his physical activity and sources of income, and the investigation determined Roberts made multiple misrepresentations to administrators and as a result received disability benefits to which he was not entitled. Roberts pled guilty to Theft in the 3rd degree, and received a deferred judgement and two years probation, and is ordered to pay nearly $7,000 in restitution and additional court costs.
