The City of Indianola has released a pair of survey’s partnered with a virtual tour of the city facilities for residents, as the city plans for future buildings to house city staff and emergency personnel. The surveys stem from a study that took place in 2017 that evaluated the Indianola Police and Fire Departments staffing levels and buildings, and determined the results of the studies revealed shortages in staffing and significant and costly problems for the current space for the emergency departments that interfere with their ability to respond to emergencies. The city is now pursuing a new Fire and Police (Public Safety) building and a joint Library/City Hall building, both on existing City property.
